Safeguarding at Manford

We have been busy throughout the year safeguarding our pupils by working alongside Sarah Knarr our Prevent Education Officer from the Redbridge Community Safety Services Department.

We have built a strong partnership with our Prevent Education Officer, who is a regular visitor to Manford to work with both our parents and pupils.

The following events have taken place this academic year:

- 6th October 2025, Year 3 -6 attended a session focusing on British Values – democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty, and mutual respect and tolerance for those with different faiths and beliefs.

- 10th February 2026, Internet Safety Day. Parents were invited to a coffee morning where our Prevent Officer shared the latest online safety information and how parents can support their children in the online world.  Alongside this, children from Years 3 to 6 were also involved in an online safety workshop.

- 10th March 2026 Parents were invited to a coffee morning to hear about how to protect their children against radicalisation and extremism.

- 11th March 2026 Staff had up-to-date online safety training – current trends, snap chat, social media and how to support pupils.

- 23rd March, pupils in Years 4 to 6 participated in a radicalisation and extremism workshop, where they gained an understanding of the dangers that they can face and how they can protect themselves from this.

Coming soon for Years 5 and 6, we have Arc Theatre's FREE counter hate and extremism performance.
